Production process of high mast light poles

31 Jul.,2025

The production process of high pole light poles involves the coordination and cooperation of multiple links. Only through the selection of high-quality raw materials, strict production procedures, comprehensive quality inspections, and good after-sales services can we ensure that high pole light poles play their due role in urban lighting.

I. Selection of raw materials

1. Material types

High mast light poles generally use high-strength steel as the main material, such as hot-dip galvanized steel, aluminum alloy, or stainless steel. These materials are widely used due to their excellent corrosion resistance, weather resistance, and mechanical strength.

2. Material procurement

During the procurement stage, manufacturers need to establish cooperative relationships with multiple material suppliers to control quality and compare prices to ensure that the purchased materials meet national and industry standards. Usually, material suppliers need to provide corresponding material certificates and chemical composition analysis reports.

II. Production process

1. Cutting

According to the design drawings, CNC cutting machines or laser cutting machines are used to cut metal materials accurately. The dimensions need to be strictly controlled during the cutting process to ensure the smooth progress of subsequent processing links.

2. Punching

Punching holes at specific locations on the lamp pole to facilitate the integration of cables and the installation of lamps. The punching machine can quickly and accurately punch holes for the lamp pole, and the hole position and hole diameter need to be precisely controlled according to the design requirements.

3. Forming

After cutting and punching, the metal forming process is carried out. Generally, a plate rolling machine is used to roll the metal material into a cylindrical shape to form the main body of the lamp pole. This step requires special attention to the roundness after rolling and the smoothness of the weld to ensure beauty and firmness.

4. Welding

The formed lamp pole needs to be welded, and the various components are connected by welding. The welding process usually uses argon arc welding or arc welding, and the welders need to undergo professional training to ensure the quality and strength of the weld. After welding is completed, repair welding and grinding are required to ensure that the surface is smooth and flawless.

 III. Surface treatment

1. Pickling

The surface of the lamp pole after welding needs to be pickled to remove impurities such as oxide layer, rust, and oil stains on the metal surface, and ensure the adhesion of subsequent surface treatment.

2. Hot-dip galvanizing

After pickling, hot-dip galvanizing is usually performed. Hot-dip galvanizing is an effective anti-corrosion measure. By immersing the lamp pole in molten zinc liquid, a solid zinc coating is formed to improve the corrosion resistance and service life of the lamp pole.

3. Plastic spraying or spraying

On the basis of galvanizing, the lamp pole can also be plastic sprayed or sprayed. This process not only improves the aesthetics of the lamp pole but also increases its corrosion resistance. At present, the powder coating used usually has the characteristics of UV resistance, high-temperature resistance, and corrosion resistance, which can effectively extend the service life of the lamp pole.

4. Smoothing

After spraying, the surface of the lamp pole needs to be smoothed to ensure that there are no dents and bubbles. At the same time, the coating should be checked to ensure that its uniformity and thickness meet industry standards.

IV. Assembly

1. Component preparation

Various components such as light sources, lamp brackets, cables, control devices, etc. are prepared according to design requirements. These components must undergo strict quality inspection to ensure their performance and safety.

2. Lamp installation

The prepared lamp is fixed to the top of the lamp pole through the bracket. When installing, pay attention to the counterweight and horizontal position of the lamp to ensure its stability and safety during use.

3. Cable connection

The cables are wired and connected inside the light pole to ensure the safe input of the power supply and the connection of the lamps. All cables and accessories should comply with electrical safety standards and be tested.

V. Quality inspection

1. Dimension inspection

After all the links of production are completed, the light pole needs to be inspected in detail to ensure that its various indicators meet the design requirements. This link usually uses measuring tools such as calipers and levels for precise measurement.

2. Strength test

After welding and surface treatment, the light pole needs to be tested for strength, such as compression resistance and bending resistance. This step can ensure the stability and safety of the light pole in actual use.

3. Electrical safety test

The electrical system of the light pole must also undergo comprehensive safety tests, including insulation tests and leakage tests, to ensure safety and reliability when used in outdoor environments.

VI. Finished product delivery

1. Packaging

The high mast light poles that have passed the inspection will be packaged, usually with waterproof and anti-collision materials to ensure that they are not damaged during transportation.

2. Logistics arrangement

After production is completed, the light pole will be arranged for delivery. Manufacturers need to optimize logistics solutions to ensure the efficiency and safety of the transportation process.

3. Factory inspection

Before delivery, the light poles must be fully inspected again to confirm their integrity and eligibility before they can be shipped. This link is also an important guarantee that end customers can obtain high-quality products.

VII. After-sales service

1. Usage guide

After the high mast light poles leave the factory, the manufacturer usually provides a manual and installation guide to ensure that customers can correctly install and use the light pole.

2. Fault handling

During use, if a fault occurs, the manufacturer needs to provide fast after-sales service to help customers solve the problem and maintain a good cooperative relationship.
