Optical bonding is a process that attaches the touch panel to the display seamlessly and with a optical adhesive. Compared with frame bonding, optical bonding has some advantages such as isolation of dust and moisture, enhancement of display effect and stability. However, the disadvantage is that the process is complicated, reworking is more difficult, and the equipment is costly. The following is general procedures of optical bonding:

Clean the bonding surface of touch panel and display to remove dust, oil and impurities to ensure its tightness and purity.
Coating a layer of special adhesive on the bonding surface of the display and touch panel. The selection of adhesive should consider its viscosity, transparency, weather resistance and so on.
Use high-precision equipment to precisely align and bond the display and touch panel. This step requires strict control of the bonding accuracy and pressure to avoid problems such as bubbles and offsets.
Solidify the adhesive by heating, ultraviolet irradiation other means, so as to firmly bond the display and touch panel together.
Conduct a comprehensive inspection on the bonding screen to check whether there are problems like bubbles, defects, uneven display. If there is any problem, repair or re-bond.
