Vertiv™ PowerUPS 9000 is designed for space-constrained environments, offering high energy efficiency and modularity. With power ranging from 250 to 1250kW, it supports both traditional and high-density IT applications. Featuring up to 97.5% efficiency, easy installation, and compatibility with various energy storage technologies, it also supports predictive maintenance to optimize performance.
Vertiv, a global leader in critical digital infrastructure and continuity solutions (NYSE: VRT), has launched the new Vertiv™ PowerUPS 9000 Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) system. This UPS system features a high-efficiency, high-power-density design with a compact footprint, supporting a wide range of applications from traditional computing to high-density IT setups. The system is now available worldwide, offering UL and CE compliant models, with a power range from 250 to 1250kW.
The Vertiv PowerUPS 9000 delivers up to 97.5% double conversion efficiency and leading high power density design. It supports fast and easy installation with both top and bottom cable access options, while incorporating feedback protection and ground fault kits, eliminating the need for additional space or on-site installation. Additionally, the system can be deployed globally, significantly reducing procurement and service inconsistencies, delivery delays, and downtime risks.
“Vertiv PowerUPS 9000 is designed to maximize reliability and energy efficiency, while minimizing footprint and simplifying complexity,” said Giovanni Zanei, Vertiv’s Vice President of High Power. “Its modular structure and high power density provide exceptional energy efficiency and reliable power protection for data center users, suitable for both traditional and hybrid AI applications.”
The Vertiv PowerUPS 9000 is the most energy-efficient UPS in Vertiv's product line, with a 32% reduction in physical footprint compared to the previous generation. The system is compatible with Vertiv™ EnergyCore lithium battery cabinets, as well as various energy storage technologies, including valve-regulated lead-acid (VRLA) batteries and nickel-zinc batteries.
The system adopts an independent control design with dual hot-swappable communication control boards, allowing each power module to operate independently. If a fault occurs, the affected module will automatically isolate itself to protect other modules, ensuring the system remains operational. Additionally, the solid-state static bypass switch optimizes the bypass path, supports full hot-swappable maintenance, and allows service operations to be performed without downtime.
Moreover, the Vertiv PowerUPS 9000 can be equipped with Vertiv™ Next Predict predictive maintenance functionality. Through advanced monitoring and data analytics, combined with AI and machine learning algorithms, it evaluates the health of the equipment, optimizes on-site operations, extends equipment life, and ensures peak performance.
During product development, Vertiv engineers conducted comprehensive Engineering Verification Testing (EVT) and Design Verification Testing (DVT) on the PowerUPS 9000 to ensure its performance and reliability in real-world scenarios. The system has also passed several environmental, performance, and extreme condition tests, including debris protection, seismic structural durability tests, and voltage surge and drop tests, validating its stability under harsh conditions.
