Hexamethylenetetramine, or methenamine, is a widely used chemical compound in industries such as pharmaceuticals, plastics, and explosives. Drying is an essential step in its production to remove moisture and ensure stability. The process involves controlled heating at moderate temperatures (typically 50-60°C) to avoid decomposition, as the compound can degrade at higher temperatures.

Proper drying results in a dry, free-flowing powder that meets quality standards for use in various applications. This step is crucial for maintaining the compound's effectiveness and shelf life.

Several types of drying equipment can be used for drying hexamethylenetetramine, depending on the scale and specific requirements of the process. Common options include:

Fluidized Bed Dryer
Through the heating of air high-speed draught is formed by the gas distribution board to make the material in question boil, thereby dispelling the moist draught and achieving the goal of drying.

Flash Dryer
The hot air enters the bottom of the dryer tangentially, and forms a strong rotating wind field driven by the agitator. Paste materials enter the dryer from the spiral feeder. Under the strong action of the high-speed rotating agitator, the materials are dispersed by impact, friction and shear force. The block materials are quickly crushed, fully contacted with the hot air, heated and dried. The dehydrated dry materials rise with the hot air flow, and the classification ring intercepts the large particles. The small particles are discharged from the center of the ring and recovered by the cyclone separator and dust collector. The undried or large pieces of materials are thrown to the wall of the device by the centrifugal force and fall to the bottom again to be crushed and dried.
